East of Najrān, Saudi Arabia

- حيا ويوم يموت
May God have mercy on Yazīd ibn Muʿāwiyah ibn Ḥazn. Āmīn, Lord of the believers, and accept him living, and on the day he dies.
A four-line prayer for Yazīd ibn Muʿāwiyah ibn Ḥazn, from the country east of Najrān. It opens like the first text for him, “may God have mercy on Yazīd ibn Muʿāwiyah ibn Ḥazn” (QMI-INS-003c), and continues: “Āmīn, Lord of the believers, and accept him living, and on the day he dies.” The name Muʿāwiyah is again written without its long alif, معوية. Here the familiar name “ibn al-Muḥajjal” is not given; the lineage stops at the grandfather, Ḥazn.
