Inscription of al-Ḥārith ibn Khālid ibn al-ʿĀṣ, al-Bāḥah

نقش الحارث بن خالد بن العاص، الباحة

Wādī Khara, al-Bāḥah region, Saudi Arabia

  1. أنا الحرث (الحارث) بن خلد (خالد) بن العص (العاص) أستغفر
  2. ربي

I, al-Ḥārith ibn Khālid ibn al-ʿĀṣ, ask forgiveness of my Lord.

A long single line, 135 cm across, with the last word set below it: “I, al-Ḥārith ibn Khālid ibn al-ʿĀṣ, ask forgiveness of my Lord.” The wording repeats his father's prayer on a nearby boulder, astaghfiru rabbī (QMI-INS-004c), and all three names are written without the long alif: الحرث, خلد, العص.
