Among what was ordered by the Commander of the Faithful Muʿāwiyah: the dismissal of the amīr ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀ- mir from his governorship in al-Baṣrah.
An Umayyad seal recording an order of the caliph Muʿāwiyah: the dismissal of the amīr ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀmir from his governorship of al-Baṣrah. It opens with the official formula mimmā amara bihi amīr al-muʾminīn, “among what the Commander of the Faithful ordered”, the wording of the caliph’s own building and road texts, and names Muʿāwiyah directly after his title. The text is cut in six lines in relief on the obverse; the reverse is plain.
