- بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله الذي لا اله الا هو الحي القيوم بديع السموت (السماوات) والارض ونور السموت

- لملك تؤتي الملك من تشا (تشاء) وتنزع الملك ممن تشا كل ملك لك ومنك ربنا واليك مصيره رب العزة
- الرحمن الرحيم كتب على نفسه الرحمة وسعت رحمته كل شيء سبحنه (سبحانه) وتعلى (وتعالى) عما يشركون نسئلك (نسألك) اللهم بر
- حمتك واسمائك الحسنى وبوجهك الكريم وسلطنك (وسلطانك) العظيم وبكلمتك التامة التي بها تقوم السموت والارض و
- بها تعصم برحمتك من الشيطن (الشيطان) وتنجي بها من عذابك يوم القيمة (القيامة) وبنعمتك السبغة (السابغة) وفضلك العظيم وبحلمك وقدر
- تك وعفوك وبجودك ان تصلي على محمد عبدك ونبيك وتتقبل شفعته (شفاعته) في امته صلى الله عليه والسلم (والسلام) عليه ورحمت (ورحمة) الله و
- مما امر به عبد الله عبد الله الامام المامون (المأمون) امير المومنين (المؤمنين) اطال الله بقاه (بقاءه) في ولاية اخي امير المومنين ابي اسحق (إسحاق) بن امير المومنين / مما امر به عبد الله عبد الله الامام المامون امير المومنين اطال الله بقاه في ولاية اخي امير المومنين ابي
- المومنين الرشيد ابقاه الله وجرا (وجرى) على يدي صلح (صالح) بن يحيى مولى امير المومنين في شهر ربيع الاخر سنة ست عشرة وماتين (ومائتين) / اسحق بن امير المومنين الرشيد ابقاه الله وجرا على يدي صلح بن يحيى مولى امير المومنين في شهر ربيع الاخر سنة ست عشرة وماتين
In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. Praise be to God; there is no god but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting, Originator of the heavens and the earth, and Light of the heavens and the earth, Sustainer of the heavens and the earth, the One, the Eternal; He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none equal to Him. Mas- ter of sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and take sovereignty from whom You will. All sovereignty is Yours and from You, our Lord, and to You is its return, Lord of might, the Merciful, the Compassionate. He has prescribed mercy for Himself; His mercy embraces all things. Glory be to Him, exalted is He above what they associate with Him. We ask You, O God, by Your mercy, by Your beautiful names, by Your noble face, by Your mighty authority, and by Your perfect word, by which the heavens and the earth stand, and by which, through Your mercy, You protect from Satan and save from Your punishment on the Day of Resurrection; and by Your abundant favour, Your great bounty, Your forbearance, Your power, Your pardon and Your generosity, that You bless Muḥammad, Your servant and Your prophet, and accept his intercession for his community. God bless him, and peace be upon him, and the mercy of God, and … Among what the servant of God ʿAbdallāh, the imam al-Maʾmūn, Commander of the Faithful, ordered, may God prolong his life, under the governorship of the brother of the Commander of the Faithful, Abū Isḥāq, son of the Commander of the Faithful al-Rashīd, may God preserve him; carried out by Ṣāliḥ ibn Yaḥyā, client of the Commander of the Faithful, in the month of Rabīʿ al-Ākhir of the year two hundred and sixteen.
One of two copper plaques that were set above the inner side of the doors of the Dome of the Rock, facing those who entered; both are now in the Islamic Museum of the Ḥaram in Jerusalem. The letters are raised in repoussé, hammered from behind over a carved model, and were gilded on a blue ground. This, the larger plaque, hung over the east door. It is made of four pieces of metal: two original panels carrying the Umayyad text, and two narrow strips fixed below them later. Inside its frame it measures 247.5 × 72 cm.
