Inscription of ʿUmar ibn Ṭarīf

Wādī al-Abyaḍ

O God, praise be to You. May God forgive ʿUmar ibn Ṭarīf ibn al-Ḥārith, and Anas ibn Salamah al-Munabbihī, and his parents, and his companions, and Mughīrah(?) ibn Saʿd. Āmīn. And [this] was written in Dhū al-Qaʿdah of the year seventy-four.

A collective prayer of forgiveness naming several people at once — ʿUmar ibn Ṭarīf and his companions — rather than a single individual, unusual among the shorter inscriptions in this corpus. The reading of "Mughīrah" is uncertain (marked with a query in the original publication) since the letters could also be construed differently in this undotted hand.
