“[Amid] lote trees stripped of thorns, and banana trees layered [with fruit], and shade extended, and water poured out, and fruit abundant, neither limited nor forbidden, and couches raised high. Indeed, We have produced them [the women of Paradise] in a special creation and made them virgins, devoted [to their husbands] and equal in age, for the companions of the right — a company of the former [believers] and a company of the later [ones].” [cf. Q 56:28–40]. Written by ʿUthmān ibn Wahrān.
The third and longest of ʿUthmān ibn Wahrān's three Qurʾanic inscriptions, drawn from Sūrat al-Wāqiʿah's description of Paradise (verses on "the companions of the right hand"). Together, the three inscriptions (nos. 25–27) form a small private epigraphic program by one individual across a single rocky outcrop.
