Salamah ibn ʿImārah bears witness that there is no god but God alone, He has no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things.
On a rock face in Wādī al-Ḥurumān, Salamah ibn ʿImārah carved a six-line testimony of faith: that there is no god but God alone, without partner, and the formula that follows it, “His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things”. The last phrase is Qurʾanic (Q 64:1), and the whole is the tahlīl known from the ḥadīth. Shayʾ is written shy, as in the muṣḥaf.
