Inscription of Farqad ibn Nāfiʿ

- يشهد فرقد بن نافع أنه لا إله إلا الله وحده
- لا شريك له وأن محمد عبده ورسو
- له وكتب في شوال سنة ست وتسعين
Farqad ibn Nāfiʿ bears witness that there is no god but God alone, without partner, and that Muḥammad is His servant and Messen- ger, and he wrote [this] in Shawwāl of the year six and ninety.
A carefully executed inscription showing visible artistic craftsmanship — curved letter strokes, hooked letterforms and decorative flourishes — that the book's author singles out as more accomplished calligraphically than many plainer texts in this corpus.
