ʿUmar ibn ʿAbdallāh ibn ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr believed in God, and bore witness that there is no god but God, and he disbelieved in false gods, living and dead. And ʿUmar wrote [this] in the year six and ninety.
ʿUmar identifies himself as a grandson of ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr, the Medinan scholar and "Seven Jurists" member also named as a patron in the inscription of Ḥabīb ibn Abī Ḥabīb (no. 21) from sixteen years earlier — the two inscriptions together attest to ʿUrwah's household across a generation. "Ṭāghūt" (false gods/idols) is a specifically Qurʾanic term for whatever is worshipped instead of God.
