Inscription of Abū Salamah
نقش أبو سلمة
Rawāwah
- آمن أبو سلمة بن عبد
- الله بن عبد الله بن عمر
- بالله العظيم
- وكتب سنة مائة
Abū Salamah ibn ʿAbd- allāh ibn ʿAbdallāh ibn ʿUmar believed in God the Almighty, and he wrote [this] [in] the year one hundred.
A three-generation genealogy (ʿAbdallāh ibn ʿAbdallāh ibn ʿUmar) recorded alongside a simple declaration of belief, from the same Rawāwah site near Medina as several other inscriptions in this catalog (nos. 43–44). A declaration in the same words, “believe in God the Almighty”, was left at Rawāwah in 120 AH by ʿUthmān ibn ʿUbaydallāh, whom Alhatlani takes to be Abū Salamah's brother (QMI-INS-055kh).
