May God turn in forgiveness to Muḥammad ibn ʿUmar ibn Ḥafṣ ibn ʿĀ- [ṣim, for what] preceded of his sins and what is to come. Amen, Lord of Mo- ses and Aaron. And [this] was written in the year [four-teen] and one hundred.

A nine-line prayer from Rawāwah near al-Madīnah asking that God “turn” to Muḥammad ibn ʿUmar ibn Ḥafṣ ibn ʿĀṣim and forgive “what preceded of his sins and what is to come”, closing with “Amen, Lord of Moses and Aaron”. The writer is a great-great-grandson of the caliph ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb through ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUmar, and a brother of ʿĀṣim and ʿAbdallāh, sons of ʿUmar ibn Ḥafṣ, whose prayers of 121 AH come from the same site (QMI-INS-055wb, QMI-INS-055w).
