May God forgive al-Haytham ibn Ziyād, and whoever asks forgiveness of his Lord. Amen, Lord of the worlds. And [this] was written in Ramaḍān of the year one hundred and eight.

A five-line prayer for forgiveness for al-Haytham ibn Ziyād, dated Ramaḍān 108 AH (January 727 CE), in the caliphate of Hishām ibn ʿAbd al-Malik. It is the second dated text for the same man from the Najrān region: an earlier prayer for mercy, dated Rajab of the same year, was written two months before (QMI-INS-055d). Neither text names its writer.
