May God turn in forgiveness to ʿĀ- ṣim ibn ʿUmar ibn Ḥafṣ. And [this] was written in the year o- ne and twenty and one hun- dred.
A five-line prayer that God “turn” to ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUmar ibn Ḥafṣ, dated 121 AH (738–739 CE). The wording and the year are the same as in the prayer of his brother ʿAbdallāh ibn ʿUmar ibn Ḥafṣ (QMI-INS-055w): both begin tāba Allāh ʿalā and both divide the numeral iḥdā across two lines. The two texts were probably cut on the same visit.
