Yaʿlā ibn Yazīd made this lion, in the year four and forty and one hundred.
A rock drawing with a dated Islamic inscription inside it, from the al-Jawf region. The text names Yaʿlā ibn Yazīd as the maker of “this lion” and dates it to 144 AH (761–762 CE). It is one of the few texts in the catalog that names its writer as the maker of a drawing.
