Inscription of Maslamah ibn Nāfiʿ al-Balawī, Wādī Nuʿām

Upper Wādī Nuʿām, south-east of Tabūk, Saudi Arabia
- اللهم اغفر لمسلمة بن نافع بن سليمان بن داود بن قيس البلوي وكتب سنة إثنين وخمسين ومائة
O God, forgive Maslamah ibn Nāfiʿ ibn Sulaymān ibn Dāwūd ibn Qays al-Balawī. And [he] wrote [this] in the year two and fifty and one hundred.
A prayer for forgiveness for Maslamah ibn Nāfiʿ ibn Sulaymān ibn Dāwūd ibn Qays al-Balawī, dated 152 AH (769 CE), in the upper Wādī Nuʿām, south-east of Tabūk. The writer gives his descent over five generations and the nisba al-Balawī. The publisher gives the reading as continuous text, without the line division.
